Bio
Kristján Kristjánsson was born in Siglufjörður on February 9, 1960. He graduated from highschool in 1981 and studied comparative literature at the University of Iceland from 1982-1986. He has a varied work experience, for example as a fisherman and a teacher and has also worked at the Local Archives in Akranes. Kristján now runs the publishing house Uppheimar in Akranes.
Kristján’s first publication was the poetry collection Svartlist (Black Art) in 1984. Since then he has published other books of poetry as well as novels and plays. He is also a playwright and his plays have been staged by Skagaleikhópurinn (the Skagi-theatre group) in Akranes. Kristján was the Town’s Artist of Akranes in 2002.
Kristján Kristjánsson lives in Akranes. He is married with three sons.
