The Nordic Council Children and Young People‘s Literature Prize is one of five awards the council gives out each year, and the youngest. The award was first presented in 2013.
Each of the nordic countries is represented in the jury. Two books are nominated by each of the Scandinavian countries and by Iceland. The Faroe Islands, Greenland, the Sámi language region and Åland may nominate one book per year, in which case they also have a representative in the jury.
